BIBI Foundation
Opening the Doors of Parliament to a New Generation
The BIBI Foundation was founded by Sufiya Ahmed to make the Houses of Parliament accessible to young persons from deprived and disadvantaged backgrounds.
Founder and Director, Sufiya says:
‘I set up the BIBI Foundation because I firmly believe it is important that young persons from deprived and disadvantaged backgrounds get the opportunity to learn about, touch and smell the Houses of Parliament.
Across our society, there is a serious lack of knowledge about the way our democracy works and this is reinforced even more within low income families and in minority communities.
I believe Parliament should be open to all British people and the BIBI Foundation is just one small vehicle through which the new generation can learn about political participation and the democratic process.’
